Metropolitan cities around the world build more and more underground subway systems in order to minimize the number of vehicles on the roads. A team of Korean designers, Ryu Chan Hyeon, Sinhyung Cho and Hong Sun Hye have developed a new concept for building underground tunnels which can generate clean electricity using the wind energy produced by passing subway trains at high speeds.

The new system, dubbed Wind Tunnel, is able to generate energy which can then be used to power several public facilities on the ground. According to the designers, most cities from different countries well equipped with subways can implement the wind tunnel to maximize their value and of course to provide clean and green energy to their systems.
